I especially liked your focus on the clock.  I felt like it ironically added significance to the character's efforts because his speech and his death were both over in under an hour, yet they had such a powerful affect on the other African Americans. Like using first person to let the readers know that it was from the African\u2019s perspective. This eliminated all the vagueness. It was also interesting that you went into detail, with things like saying the courts were corrupt.
