“The Fourth Reich” It was a cool winter night in the horrid camp, Auschwitz. Men in brown uniforms carried weapons prowling the dirt passages of the camp, mischievously eyeing its attendants. The coughs and moans echoed through the camp, it could be heard by all of Germany. But, there was one man who could not hear these coughs and moans, a man so deep in his work and experiments that he tuned all else out, Josef Mengele. Mengele was deep at work with his newest hypothesis. He was sure he had the perfected his newest obsession, creating an artificial growth hormone that can increase people’s height by reconstructing their genes. He carefully picked up his vials and began mixing them slowly, observing their change. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Surprised, Mengele dropped and spilled his mixture drenching his work desk. Mengele let out a piercing roar as the door to his tent slowly slid open. Enraged, Mengele began to walk towards the door with a revolver located in his right pocket. A man walked in, he was wearing black sunglasses, with a long black overcoat. Mengele fired off five rounds at the man’s chest. He inched backwards as his head slid down. He slowly recoiled his head back up and shook side to side as the bullets fell to the door. “What…are…you?” Mengele said in a low voice. “Do not worry about that. I come from time, far from yours” said the cloaked man. “It is assumed that the Third Reich will fall. I have come to rewrite that point in history. With your collaboration and with me aiding Albert Speer, the head of Armaments and War Production, we can change everything” said the man. “Why are you coming to me then?” Mengele said. The man slowly opened his trench coat and pulled out a black handgun, it had a prolonged barrel and a spacious rim. He outstretched his hand with the gun. “Kill Hitler, he will be visiting Auschwitz soon” said the man, and he walked out the tent. Two days had passed since the meeting with the strange man. Mengele believed the man to be a Jewish infiltrator. Just then, one of Mengele’s guards walked into his tent. “Sir, we have just received a telegram from Albert Speer. He says that the time is now, sir” said the guard. Moments later, a guard yelled of Hitler’s arrival. He could hear the automobile driving through the gate. It stopped in the middle of the dirt road and the car door opened. Mengele lifted up his tent door and without hesitation pulled the large gun from his jacket and fired 2 bullets into Hitler’s chest and one bullet into the driver’s head. Mengele got into the passanger seat of the automobile and snapped his fingers, within seconds a young male jumped into the driver seat and began backing up out the gate. Mengele and his driver arrived in Berlin, Germany. There they were met with Albert Speer at the Reichstag building. Speer greeted him at the front of the building and they began to walk the courtyards. “Our weapons have been upgraded, we now have more power than every nation combined, our victory is inevitable” said Speer. “Have the weapons been delivered to each of the outposts as requested?” said Mengele. “As we speak” said Speer. “Very well, very well” said Mengele. Mengele reached into his coat pocket and pulled out the long sleek gun. He whipped it upwards and fired three rounds into Speer’s chest, his eyes broadened and he doubled over in pain and sluggishly fell to the floor. Mengele walked over it heading into the Reichstag building. Every delegate from the Nazi party was there. They all sat in the voluminous room. Mengele walked out into the middle of the room and began to speak. “We can now show the world our true power!” he said raising a fist. “I am no orator like Mr. Hitler was, but I have something better than words my friends!” he said. Mengele clapped his hands twice and rows upon rows of weapon holding Nazi soldiers immersed the room. They began opening fire, gunning down all of the Nazi delegates. Papers went flying everywhere, with wood chips filling the air. One by one the delegates dropped to the floor as the soldiers continued to fire. “Es hat begonnen” Mengele barked at his troops, which translated to “It has begun”. And with that he raised a fist into the air and the yells of the new Nazi empire echoed through the halls of the Reichstag building and out to the streets of Germany.
